As dynamic individuals, constantly changing in thought, location, and physicality, we must understand sexuality as an important component of a larger whole. Left on its own, ignored and not nurtured, sexuality can be a negative force leading to relationship issues, addictions, and psychological problems. However, when we learn to love and express our sexuality in a healthy manner, we can live in harmony with ourselves and others. When we fully embrace who we are as sexual beings and when we are willing to share our desires, fantasies and fears with ourselves and our partners, we can be disciplined and wise in our sexual decision making. When we consider the whole person, mind, body and spirit, we are best able to understand the connection between healthy sexuality and healthy living.
