Denver Bars and Clubs - Denver Breweries

Breweries and beer pubs dominate Denver nightlife and, compared to other American cities, the Denver brewery scene flat out rivals that of Germany and Austria. The Falling Rock Tap House boasts over 69 beers on tap, and is the official after bar for Denver’s Great American Beer Festival, an anticipated annual highlight on the Denver calendar. For sports fans, many Denver breweries also double as sports bars, while Zang Brewery Company is a historic Denver bar for both beer and sports. Denver taverns, pubs and brew houses often serve local microbrews and many carry extensive selections of beer. In Denver, cold beer served with typical Denver cheer goes a long way to making out-of-towners feel warm and peachy inside.

Breckenridge Brewery

2220 Blake St., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.297.3644
Hand crafted microbrews—although they're not made on site any longer—and more than satisfying pub fare are the staples of the Breckenridge Brewery in Denver that sits right across the street from Coors Field. Rockies fans swarm this Denver restaurant and bar before and after the game (and sometimes during if it's a snoozer) for the aforementioned ingestible amenities and the friendly service that is always on point.

Bull and Bush Brewery

4700 Cherry Creek South Dr., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.759.0333
We don't know if the Bull and Bush Brewery in Denver is "America's first true sports bar" as claimed because we're really not historians, but we are drinkers and we can tell you with the utmost certainty that as one of Denver's first microbreweries, the Bull and Bush knows their craft. The extensive selection of microbrews ranges from the traditional to the seasonal and this Denver bar serves up a great menu of pub style food rivaling anything you're going to find elsewhere. Besides the beer and food, packing in the crowds, the Bull and Bush's Brit pub style and neighborly attitude keep the regulars satisfied.

Zang Brewing Company

2301 7th St., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.455.2500
While the beer vats may be long gone, the spirit of Bavarian immigrant Phillip Zang lives on in the old school rustic building that's successfully transformed itself into a top notch Denver local sports bar. However, there are still some exclusive tap beers made especially for Zang's by One Keg Brewhouse, so the brewing nostalgia and moniker aren't lost and this Denver bar also serves up some more than decent and varied pub grub. Zang's packs in a steady crowd of sports minded drinkers and during a game—any game really, but especially when the Broncos or Avs are playing—this historic bar is standing room only.
