Denver Bars and Clubs - Denver Dance Clubs

There is no shortage of dance floor square footage in Denver. For ground zero of Denver dance clubs, downtown’s LoDo district is the hot spot for what is hip and chic. Lotus in LoDo boasts one of the best Ladies Nights in town—no cover and free drinks ‘til 11pm, just right about when the party gets started. Club Vinyl’s many bars and dance floors make this Denver dance club feel like many dance clubs in one and keeps the night interesting with different music for different moods (or mood enhancers). For dance to a different beat than techno, bass and hip hop, Denver’s Rumba dance club gets caliente with live salsa preceded by free salsa lessons on Rumba’s large dance floor.

B-52 Billiards & Red Monkey

1920 Market St., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.383.1941
A sports bar, billiards bar and dance club in Denver, B-52 Billiards and the Red Monkey lounge may seem to be biting off more than it can chew in the Denver bar scene, but this bi-level club has some serious chops. Catering to the sports fan, the clubber, the pool shark and hip loungers, B-52 and the Red Monkey serves up some mean cocktails with nightly specials along with better than average bar fare to satisfy the yens of its diverse crowds. Any given night you can catch the seemingly disparate crowds mingle and become drinking buddies eschewing the cliquishness of high school for the social lubricating found at B-52 bar and the Red Monkey lounge. Also, this Denver club pulls in some hot DJs to man the dance floor decks and, if you're so inclined, pop in on Thursdays for cheap beer and free pool.

1902 Blake St., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.298.7994
Easily the largest dance club in Denver, Bash pulled itself up from its scrubby roots to become a premier bar to get your DJ and booze fueled party on. Bash sports about 6,000 square feet of dancing and drinking space, but you'd never know it because this Denver club gets wall to wall with drinkers, clubbers, trendsters, scenesters and loungers downing the booze and energy drink cosmopolitan concoction du jour and either chilling in Bash's lounge or grooving on the dance floor to its resident spinners. Even with the throbbing masses at Bash, their bartenders are top notch making getting a drink easier than mustering up the courage to spit game to that hottie you've been eye-balling all night.

From lose your shirt dancing to drag queen karaoke; Bent takes good care of the Denver gay scene nightly with themed nights offering a different pretense for boozing rather than their cheap and heavy cocktails. The Church

1160 Lincoln St., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.832.3528
Housed in an—yep, you guessed it—old Gothic church, Denver's dance club mainstay, The Church, could have easily turned down the road of catering to the black clad, perpetually moody set, but instead chose the more mainstream path of retro-infused, swank Denver dance club and lounge. Instead of dishing out cocktails with names like Lestat's blood, The Church's bartenders sling martinis, beers and shots dropped into energy drinks for the hipster masses that continually crowd this Denver nightclub. Also, The Church let's the kiddies in on the fun sporting some of Denver's only 18 and up dance club nights and when the nationally and internationally touted local DJs are dropping mad beats and you need a breather, check out the roof top deck for a stellar view of Denver.

Club Purple

1523 Market St., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.607.9209
Denver's Club Purple sports four floors of hip lounging and hot dancing with interceding floors constructed to be a voyeur's dream. Seriously, the floors under Club Purple's dance floors are completely glass—yep, glass ladies—which is kind of an anachronistic ruse, but it seems to work. Just remember fellas that a hottie really wouldn't want to hear "I saw you on the dance floor" unless you where actually within some physical proximity when you "saw" her... besides, she'll have plenty of time to label you as a pervert later. The subterranean lounge area at this Denver nightclub is super chill with separate DJs manning the decks for a lounge vibe over a frenetic dancing one and the top most floor houses the VIP area complete with beds and bottle service, but if you don't get to Denver's Club Purple early be prepared to wait in line...for everything.

Club Sky

1520 20th St., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.298.7625

1082 Broadway, Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.860.8469

La Rumba

99 W. 9th Ave., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.572.8006

Also, La Rumba offers those a little unsure of themselves free salsa lessons early before the spacious dance floor gets packed with Denver salsa pros—okay, maybe they just seem like pros—and everything gets kicked up a notch on the ol' hotness meter. The drinks are a bit pricey at La Rumba; so if you're like us and need liquid encouragement, booze up somewhere else, but if you like all your Denver nightlife in one club, the sexy eye candy at La Rumba will instantly make you forget how much you just dropped on your tab.

Market 41

1941 Market St., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.292.5641

The young crowds at Market 41 are just there for one thing; to have fun and to that end this Denver dance club consistently delivers.

Rock Island

1614 15th St., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.572.7625
Rock Island is one of the only dance clubs in Denver to consistently take care of our pre-bar aged community by offering 18 and over (18+) dancing on many nights and even some 16 and up (16+) nights where the newly licensed can shake it until 11:30pm. Of course 21 and up can always get down at Rock Island dance club that takes the slammin' nightclub vibe back from the ultra-trendy "ultra-lounges" to deliver pure dance nights in every possible genre. If you're just into dancing without the attitude and pretentiousness of a lot of Denver clubs, kick it at Rock Island—just check the wristbands and stay within your age group.

Snake Pit

608 E. 13th St., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.831.1234
The Snake Pit is, hands down, one of Denver's best dance clubs and not only because of the non-LoDo locale. The Snake Pit gets the best local and international DJs to man the decks nightly for a frenzied crowd of Denver clubbers that eclectically range from ravers to punks to hip-hoppers and everything in between, yet refreshingly there's no attitude at the Pit to contend with. The bar staff at the Snake Pit deserves some attention also—well nearly every bar staff gets props from us—because the drink slingers at this Denver club throw down the liquor fast and furious, but don't treat you like cattle. If heavy, cheap drinks, the non-herd mentality and the choice sounds weren't enough for you to dance your little Denver heart out at the Snake Pit, then this'll do it: cover is rarely over $5.

Teddy's Restaurant & Lounge

4849 Bannock St., Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.292.9500
Teddy's is an often raucous Denver bar where dancing to good old country and western tunes is the preferred norm, but this dance club also branches out into hip-hop, basically it's whatever the crowd wants. Both the younger college and cowpoke set and the young at heart crowd on to Teddy's dance floor for a rowdy booze fueled party and this Denver dance club gives its patrons that are on the prowl a definite deal closer because Teddy's shares it's space with a Holiday Inn.

Tracks

3500 Walnut, Denver, Colorado; Tel. 303.863.7326
