She is a licensed clinical social worker and a registered play therapist-supervisor. She received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver in 1991. She received play therapy training in experiential play therapy from Byron Norton, Ed. D. Currently, she is in training with Bryan Post, LCSW, to become a Post Trauma and Attachment Therapist.
She is certified to run two types of parenting groups, one based on the Great Behavior Breakdown model of Bryan Post, and the other based on the Beyond Consequences, Logic and Control model of Bryan Post and Heather Forbes.
Over the years, she has become interested in different forms of “energy work.” She received Reiki training, and is certified to do Reiki. Reiki has been described as a specific form of hands-on healing. In addition, she is a Certified Bars Facilitator, based on Access Consciousness. A particular form of energy work, “running the bars” is a simple, non-invasive energy process that can release stuck energy and leave you with a sense of peace and space. Her experiences have found it to be effective with adults as well as with children.
