The Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC) encompasses 12 acres and houses 10 performance spaces.
While plays, ballets and symphonies are all spectacular to watch in the historic venues, merely strolling around the complex makes for a great outing and a little exercise. Gardens dot the grounds in localized patches, as well as artwork created by local artists.
A spectacular 80-foot-tall glass ceiling connects the grounds, and with artistic lighting it's worth a stroll during the nighttime hours to witness the surreal glow.
Two ghostly sculptures dozens of feet high adorn the back lawn of the theater, and their elongated white forms often conjure of visions of dancing aliens.
The mountains that sit just west of Denver offer plenty of activities for outdoors enthusiasts, but the city itself is full of things to do and attractions. Art galleries, museums and niche neighborhoods draw thousands of visitors every year and many venues also have a strong local following.
