"2003 Best for Business Travelers" - Arrington's Bed & Breakfast Journal
Located adjacent to Downtown Denver's quiet Benedict Fountain Park in the Clement Historic District of Downtown Denver, the Queen Anne Bed & Breakfast Inn is the perfect location for guests seeking a bed and breakfast within walking distance of Downtown (as an alternative to luxury and boutique hotels in Downtown Denver). Step back into the 1800's at the Queen Anne Bed and Breakfast Inn, Denver's first urban bed and breakfast inn. The two side-by-side National Register Victorians (1879/1886), are within easy walking distance of the State Capitol, US Mint, 16th Street Pedestrian Mall, Colorado Convention Center, Larimer Square, Coors Field, Center for Performing Arts, and numerous shops, restaurants and museums. Business travelers like the Queen Anne Bed & Breakfast Inn's convenient downtown location and quiet atmosphere.
The Queen Anne Bed & Breakfast, one of the largest Denver Bed and Breakfasts, has made their top suites available to Denver.com visitors at a discounted rate!
Four are two-room gallery suites named for famous painters of bygone days (Audubon, Calder, Remington and Rockwell) and feature selected examples of their work. All of the Inn's top suites are individually decorated with period antiques and have private baths, direct dial telephones, writing desks, data lines, piped in chamber music (with independent volume control for each room), fresh flowers and nurtured plants. The Alexander Calder Suite
The Alexander Calder Suite is dedicated to the inventor of the mobile, and father of kinetic art ("shapes in color that move"). His works in red, yellow, blue, white and black are hung throughout the suite's two rooms. The sitting room faces the park, and a gas log fireplace provides "romantic ambience". A working desk, cable TV, antique coffee table, chair and sofa round out the creature comforts. The separate bedroom has a king-size bed and comfortable bay window reading area. There is a deep soaker whirlpool jet tub/shower. (First Floor)
The Frederic Remington Suite
The Frederic Remington Suite is dedicated to the western artist and sculptor. Selected prints and bronze statue compliment the bedroom design which includes hanging Indian rugs, king size bed, cable TV, antique writing desk and sofa reading area. Original brick stretches across one entire wall. The bath has a cast iron antique claw foot tub/shower. Instead of a formal sitting room, there is a small enclosed porch with a deep-jetted hot tub private to this suite. The porch provides direct access to the garden. (First Floor)
The Norman Rockwell Suite
The Norman Rockwell Suite is dedicated to this artist who saw so much character in American faces. Five-foot windows overlook the park from the sitting room and a window opens to the interior of the Inn's 35-foot turret. A sliding pocket door secludes the bay window bedroom with its king-size bed (can be twin single beds). The bath has a relaxed deep soaker tub/shower. (Second Floor)
The John James Audubon Suite
The John James Audubon Suite is dedicated to one many consider "the greatest bird painter the Western World has ever known." A cathedral ceiling in the sitting room stretches the width of the house. The suite's three windows have a partial view of the city skyline. The separate bedroom has a king size bed and the unusual bathroom has double washbasins and a deep, rectangular tub-for-two has four showerheads including one in the ceiling. (Second Floor)
Fountain Room
Originally the Master Bedroom in 1879, the Fountain Room faces the park. This room now features a redesigned two person jetted tub enclosed in a white and merlot marble alcove with matching double basin and vanity. Five windows; views of Benedict Park; morning sunshine; four-poster canopied queen bed with feather mattress and spread; white wicker chaise lounge, ottoman and chair. (Second Floor)
Rooftop Room
The Rooftop Room's French doors open to the private deck with two-person jetted spa with adjacent, table and chairs and a spectacular view of Denver's city skyline. The bedroom has a queen bed & sitting area with library table, and the tiled bath with walk-in shower, a barber's sink and a large walk-in closet with bureau. (Third Floor)
