There is no shortage of cool rooftop bars in Denver.
But if you’re looking for one with a great vibe that also offers 70 Colorado-made craft beers on tap AND some seriously good eats … well, Tap XIV is your kinda place!
Many times you have to choose your poison. Are you going for atmosphere, food or drinks? It’s very rare when you get the trifecta without breaking the bank, but Tap XIV is setting a new standard. The Denver Bloggers Club recently met there for our monthly event.
Tap 14 is located on the rooftop of Hayter’s & Co, 1/2 block from Coors Field at 1920 Blake Street. At Tap 14 we celebrate the amazing beer scene here in Colorado. We have 70 craft beers on tap at our rooftop beer garden, all brewed right here in the great state of Colorado! In addition to our fantastic selection of Colorado craft beers, we also have the largest selection of Colorado spirits anywhere in Denver. Made in Colorado, for Colorado!
Chef Taylor Creedon has created a freshly made, locally sourced menu he describes as American Alpine Fare. We also feature a brunch menu on the weekends from 10am-2pm.
Our rooftop bar and patio has an amazing view of the Denver skyline and is south-facing to ensure many sun drenched days in the Colorado Sunshine. There is nothing like drinking Colorado craft beer and spirits on our rooftop bar with tremendous Denver skyline views. — Tap XIV
Chef Taylor selected beers for us to sample paired with six of the appetizers on their menu. I’ve been doing my best to keep up with all of the local breweries and the craft beers they offer, so I expected some really great brews. But what I didn’t expect was the quality of food offerings at what is essentially a hip sports bar.
The Kale Chips and the Barrel Aged House Pickles were both very good, as was the House Made Pretzel Rolls with Beer Mustard Butter. I would have been perfectly content to gnosh on those all day. (With great beers to wash it all down of course).
But then they brought out the Smoked & Charred Wings, followed by Smoked Crimini Mushroom Tacos and the Tender Belly B.L.T. The mushrooms were a bit too smoky for my taste, but the wings were some of the best I’ve ever had, (a popular opinion at our table). And believe me, I’ve had more than my fair share of wings from a diverse mix of places.
Then there is the Tender Belly B.L.T.
Sheer perfection. It’s a good thing they brought those out last. Holy crap, I’m salivating just thinking about them now.
- Tender Belly Habanero Bacon
- Red Leaf
- Garlic Aioli
- Harvest Moon Ciabatta Bun
I will definitely be back. I have yet to try the Local Stout Brined Deviled Eggs and Saso Chipotle Chicken Nachos. Having recently discovered my passion for beer brined eggs, I have my hopes set pretty high for Brined Deviled Eggs with Tender Belly Habanero Bacon.
Maybe I’ll go all out and show up on Colorado Whiskey Monday or Barrel-Aged Tuesday. And show up with a crowd so I can have a taste of everything. The taste buds are already activated.
