Here’s the predicament that I hear from my transplant friends in Denver: “My friends/family/in-laws are coming to town to visit,” they say. “Where should I take them?”
My advice for new Denverites hosting guests from out-of-town is to embrace your inner tourist together. Leave the work to a real tour guide and support these amazing local tour outfitters who are pairing the city’s famous craft booze with food, history, and even cannabis for an ultimate Denver experience.
Make sure you have your tour booked and ready for your guests by buying your tickets on Small Business Saturday, which takes place on November 25, 2017.
Imbibe LoDo with a Boozy Bites Food Tour
Join as many as 11 other foodie experience seekers on a food tour of Denver, paired with libations from Denver’s handcrafted cocktail scene. You’ll see how Taste of Denver, a year-old locally-owned business, has answered the call for guided, curated explorations of Denver’s thriving food scene.
Amateur food-seekers usually prefer the DIY approach, finding their way around new foodscapes via Yelp reviews alone. However, after the Boozy Bites happy hour cocktail tour, you and your visitors will see what makes guided tours a better bang for your buck and an all-around more fun, place-centric experience. Afterward, keep the buzz going with a night out in Downtown Denver.

Take a Brewery Tour with a Cannabis Twist
Everybody takes their beer-loving visitors to a favorite local brewery in Denver–it’s a no-brainer. Committed beer enthusiasts who are hosting out-of-towners may even make a full day of stringing breweries together for flight after flight of self-guided sampling.
A little less standard is exploring Denver’s burgeoning cannabis scene. Whether your visitors have asked about it or not, chances are high that they’re canna-curious. Ease their way into local cannabis culture by combining it with a brewery visit on the Budz and Sudz party bus tour that pairs the best of both worlds. After getting insider access to a commercial grow facility and checking out two different dispensaries, guests are transported to Brewability Lab, a special addition to Denver’s brewery scene that employs people with disabilities. Budz and Sudz is a real eye-opener for out-of-towners that will surely be remembered as a highlight.
