Make/Shift Monday: Earthship Workshop with Becky Wareing Steele

What: “Ever want to get away from it all and get a fresh start at life? Artist-in-Residence Becky Wareing Steele has been exploring this concept with her Utopia project. Join us for an evening of sustainable living practices centered around the concept of Earthships. Participants will be provided with materials to create their own Earthship model and explore what this movement in earth architecture means for our future.”

What: “Jazz legend Billie Holiday’s troubled life story comes to life through the songs that made her famous, including “God Bless the Child,” “What a Little Moonlight Can Do,” “Strange Fruit” and “Taint Nobody’s Biz-ness.” Mary Louise Lee revives her standout performance as Holiday, for which she won the 2003 Westword Best of Denver – Best Actress in a Musical Award.”

Arthur Jafa – Artist Talk

What: “Join us to hear from Arthur Jafa, whose video, Love Is The Message, The Message Is Death, is currently on view at MCA Denver. Jafa will speak about the work, which has been shown to great acclaim at institutions around the US and in the UK, as well as current projects.”
